On this day, dedicated to love and romance, I wanted to take a moment to provide my perspective on love.

I believe that if you truly want to love and be loved, all that is needed is to live this truth. Don't spend time buying expensive gifts for your loved one because Hallmark says that it is required, instead, take time to demonstrate your love in simple ways, every day. Love is listening, laughing, sharing and enjoying time together and this is easy when you are in love.

Almost 25 years in with my amazing man, I know that what means the most are the days we spend laughing and creating memories together.

With so many people today, standing up to protest in the name of love and freedom of expression, claiming to love one another, I feel that lines get blurred. I question motives and wonder, is it only to feel better about themselves? Do they truly want to love one another ? Or is it simply done in an effort to make their social media pages look good?

Be kind and respectful. To everyone. Just because.
